Amy was born January 27, 1976. She was a member of Lexington United Methodist Church. Amy was preceded in death by her grandparents Bobby and Diane Brown and Virglyn Evans and her special aunt Gloria Galloway. Amy leaves her memories to be cherished by her husband of 13 years, Steve; her children Jessie, Carson, Evan, and Kinley; her parents Marty and Linda Evans; brothers Andy (Jamie) and Adam (Kendra); mother-in-law Jackye Wampler; father-in-law J.A. Wampler; nieces Ashlyn and Ava Evans; nephews Jake and Jonas Evans; sister-in-law Diana Rives (Rick); numerous Arkansas family members; and a community of friends too numerous to count.
Amy was a woman of faith and the heart of her family. Being a wife, mother, daughter, sister, and aunt were her greatest joys. She was a friend to many and never met a stranger. She loved everyone and saw the good in everything. Amy had the ability to make everyone feel special and many have said “to know her is to love her”.
Amy was an inspiration to many-beautiful inside and out. She was compassionate, humble, vibrant, loving, giving, kind, hilarious, and full of life. She loved to sing and dance and had an infectious laugh and smile that could light up a room.
She was a 1994 graduate of Colbert County High School. She attended the University of North Alabama and majored in Elementary Education. While at UNA, Amy was a member of Zeta Tau Alpha and a member of the UNA Pride of Dixie Marching Band, serving as head Lionette. After graduation, she taught at Hatton Elementary School.
After marrying Steve and moving to Lexington, she volunteered in her church and community serving as Children’s Director, Praise Team member, and PTO President at Lexington School. Amy became a Zumba instructor and taught classes for many years. She was passionate about sharing her love of Matilda Jane Clothing, serving as a trunk keeper for 5 years.
Pallbearers will be Alex Scott, Matthew Eubank, Mack Moncus, Jeremy Thrasher, Chad Davis, Glen Brown, Jay Weathers, and Ronnie Ray. Honorary Pallbearers will be the Lexington High School Football and Track team.
The family would like to especially thank Dr. Hussain Tawbi and the Melanoma Team at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, TX.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Wampler’s Warriors at any First Metro Bank. Amy’s love of music and her community has inspired her family to donate any money raised to the Lexington Purple Pride Marching Band for updates to their facility.
