Obituary of Wilburn "Tom" Gist

Wilburn Johnny "Tom" Gist, 84, of Greenhill, passed away at his residence on November 23, 2009. He was retired from Tee Jays and a member of the Church of Christ. He enjoyed hunting and gardening.
Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Dorothy Sue Fowler Gist; Sons, Randy (Carol) Gist, and Terry Gist; Daughters, Johnnie Ruth Dixon, Debbie (Charles) Nabers, and Sandra (Roger) Myrick; Sister, Vergie McClanahan.
He is also survived by grandchildren, Tim (Beverly) Dixon, Johnny Gist, Chuck Nabers, Corbin Nabers, Nathaniel Myrick, Tammie (Greg) Dial, Christie (Dustin) Hambright, Regina (Jason) Wilbanks, and Sara Gist; Great Grandchildren: Katie Dixon, Christopher Dixon, Lydia Dial, Levi Dial, David Dial, Gatlin Hambright, and Taylor Hambright.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lee Boyd and Lillian Hester Hannah Gist; brother, Lincoln Gist; sisters, Mable Woodham and EdithPeden; granddaughter, Kimberly Myrick; grandson, Joshua Myrick; and son-in-law, Doyle Dixon.
Visitation will be Tuesday evening, November 24, from 6:00-9:00pm at Greenhill Funeral Home. The funeral service will be Wednesday at l: 00pm at the funeral home with Bro. Howell Bigham and Bro. Greg Dial officiating. Burial will be in Shiloh Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be: Tim Dixon, Chuck Nabers, Corbin Nabers, Johnny Gist, Nathaniel Myrick, and David Dial.
Honorary Pallbearers will be: Christopher Dixon, Levi Dial, Gatlin Hambright, Dustin Hambright, and Jason Wilbanks.
The family would like to thank Dr. Dianna McCutcheon, Alacare Hospice, Hospice Complete, and Donna Cole for their care and concern.
