Obituary of Charlie Glover

Charlie Mae Glover, 90, of Killen, AL, passed away May 26, 2016 after an extended illness. Mr. Glover was a retired Pipefitter from Union Carbide and a United States Army Veteran of World War II. He was a member of Atlas Church of Christ where he served as an Elder for 42 years and previously served as an Elder at Antioch Church of Christ for 12 years. Mr. Glover was a member of American Legion Post #11. Mr. Glover is survived by: Wife of 68 years, Geneva Davis Glover Children: Percy T. Glover (Pam) Quint Glover (Connie) Peggy Briley (Jerry) Patsy Richardson (Roland) Brothers: James T. Glover, Jr. Jackie L. Glover Sisters: Bertha Wilson Louise Thigpen Jeanette Brandenburg Grandchildren: Greg Richardson (Dawn), Dana Roberts (Mike), Kesha Bozeman (Marty), Colleen Randol (Brandon), Bridget Dison, Savannah, Charlie, and Lincoln Glover (7) Great-grandchildren He was preceded in death by parents, James T. Glover Sr., and Tilda Smith Glover; son Perry Glover; grandson Brian T. Glover; foster son Joseph Sharp; brothers Roland Glover, William Glover, Hershel Glover, and 2 infant brothers; and sisters Rose Glover and Carolyn Glover. Visitation will be Saturday, May 28, 2016 from 6-8:00 P.M. at Atlas Church of Christ. The funeral service will be Sunday at 3:30 P.M. at Atlas Church of Christ with burial in Atlas Cemetery. Matt Heupel and Paul Sain will officiate. The casket will lie in state Sunday from 2:30-3:30 P.M. at the church. Pallbearers will be Jerry Briley, Roland Richardson, Mike Roberts, Greg Richardson, Marty Bozeman, Charlie Glover, and Lincoln Glover. Honorary pallbearers will be the Elders and Deacons of Atlas Church of Christ, Colton Richardson, Kadyn Dison, Jake Roberts, and special friend Bobby Thigpen. Memorials may be made to the Atlas Church of Christ Building Fund or the Lauderdale County Christian Children's Home. Greenhill Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
