Obituary of Mattie Louise Gist

Mattie Louise Gist, 86, of Greenhill, passed away October 27, 2013, at Lauderdale Christian Nursing Home. She was a member of Atlas Church of Christ and was a retired from Sanders Candy Factory in Detroit Michigan.
Survivors include:
Son: Michael Kim Gist and wife Jessica - Taylor, MI
Brothers: Thomas Thompson - Killen, Robert Thompson - Muscle Shoals, Haroldean Thompson - Killen, and Donald Thompson - Sheffield
Sisters: Glenda Faye Dodd - Cypress Inn, TN and Sue Darby - Florence
Grandchildren: Audrey Parrish and husband Jason and Holly Richer and husband Nick
Great Grandchild: Damien Parrish
Special Friend: Pete Killen
Preceded in death by:
Husband: Roy Gist
Parents: Benjamin and Jessie Thompson
Brother: Charles Thompson
Sister: Peggy Clemmons
Visitation will be Thursday, October 31, from 4:30-6:30pm at Atlas Church of Christ. The funeral service will be Friday at 11:00am at the church with Miles Stutts officiating. Burial will be in Shiloh Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Greg Thompson, Wesley Thompson, Benny Thompson, Keith South, Robert Jenkins, and Shawn English.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the North Alabama Christian Childrens Home.
