Obituary of JoAnn Wallace

JoAnn Cates Wallace, 69, of Greenhill, passed away March 1, 2011 at ECM Hospital in Florence. She was a homemaker and a member of the Church of Christ. Survivors include: Husband: Thomas Wallace - Greenhill Sons: Wayne Wallace - Greenhill Stan Wallace (Beth) - Greenhill Andy Wallace (Julie) - Cumming, GA Daughter: Tina Wallace - Greenhill Sisters: Patti Montgomery - Florence Jean Rhodes (Dennis) - Somerville, AL Step-Sister: Shirley Underwood (Danny) - Florence (7) Grandchildren, whom she loved and adored Uncles: Arlen Rithmire - Athens Doug Rithmire (Nancy) - Covington, GA Preceded in death by: Parents: Cecil Cates and Iva Imogene Letson Step-father: Frank Letson Sisters: Betty Hill and Lynice Gail Cates Special Mother-in-Law: Elizabeth Wallace Visitation will be Thursday, March 3, starting at 4:00pm at Greenhill Funeral Home. The funeral service will be Friday at 2:00pm at the Shiloh Church of Christ with Charles Kretzer and Tim Grigsby officiating. The body will lie in state at the church from 1:00-2:00pm. Burial will be in Shiloh Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Rogers High School Relay for Life or the Greenhill Volunteer Fire Department. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Greenhill Volunteer Fire Department, the Killen Ambulance Service, and the doctors, nurses and staff at ECM Hospital, especially Shirley, Teresa, and Miranda.
