To My Dearest Roy, My Dad, Today, the world feels quieter, as if it knows it’s lost a piece of its magic—your smile, your wisdom, your boundless love. But in my heart, a symphony plays, each note a memory of you, vibrant and alive. You and Elaine did not know you would acquire another daughter, but there I was… me and two small kids. I did not speak English and was at a loss in life. You are my hero, the one who provided the endless love I needed so much at that time. You were the anchor in my storms, the steady hand that held mine, and the voice that reminded me I could overcome anything. Though you’ve left this earth, you’ll never leave me. The faith that you had in me has profoundly aided me throughout my life, and you have woven yourself into the fabric of who I am and in my children. For that, I am endlessly grateful.
