Obituary of Pearl McConnell

Pearl Hammond McConnell, beloved Mother and Nana to her grandchildren and great grandchildren, age 88, passed away February 9, 2011, at her home after a brief illness.
She was born December 29, 1922 and was a member of Lexington First Baptist Church. She was creative and loved bringing projects to life, whether on canvas, building fish pools, flower beds, or adding a new addition to the home - nothing was too big to tackle.
Visitation will start at 11:00am at Greenhill Funeral Home on Friday, February 11. The funeral will be at 2:30pm in the chapel with Bro. Ted Vafeas officiating. Burial will follow at the Pettus Cemetery in Lexington.
She was preceded in death by parents, Albert and Emma Hammond; husbands, James McConnell and Leonard Moore; sons-in-law, Roger Weigart and Bobby Terry.
She is survived by a son, David Danley (Marge), Washington; daughter, Lynn Weigart, Lexington, and daughter, Doris Terry, Courtland; grandchildren, Tika Hunt, Lexington, Mickey Weigart, Tampa, Donald Danley (Tammie), Washington, and Jeremy Terry, Courtland. Also, Great Grandchildren, Matthew Weigart, Lexington, Josh Hunt, Rogersville, Carley Boatright, Lexington, Mikey and Max Weigart, Tampa.
Pallbearers will be Mickey Weigart, Matthew Weigart, Josh Hunt, Jeremy Terry, Lance Hammond, and Louie Garner. Honorary pallbearers will be Donald Danley, Mikey and Max Weigart.
The family would like to express extreme gratitude to the nurses and resp. therapist at ECM, Dr. Nimako, and Cindy in med. Rec. for all your excellent care of our loved one.
