Mamaw feeding baby Lyndon with Jarvis in the background. She loved rocking all of the babies to sleep. She was one of the only people that could get Avery asleep with her rocking cuddling.
Some of their favorite memories was shelling peas with her and watching Flicka, with their great Mamaw.

Alice, Norma, and Cindy...I’m so sorry for your loss. Your mom was a special lady.
I’ll always remember how She would ride the schoolbus to go to work in the lunchroom. She was like an extra mom figure to so many of us... always sweet. Years later I was grown and married.. Tim and I saw her in Walmart and she hugged me and told Tim that he had married one of her kids. ❤️

Mom,
I know your life growing up was not easy. I know you wanted more for your girls. Everything you did was with love. We didn’t have much but we had love. On our birthday you would make us a homemade cake. My favorite was chocolate. They were so good. We had a home made supper every day. When we were little and lived in town and it was sunny you would walk us to school every day so you could make sure we were safe. When it was cold and we were waiting on the school bus and it was so cold you would open up your coat and pull us inside to keep us warm. When we scratched our knees you would put the red stuff on our knees to clean it but it would burn like the dickens and you would blow on it so it wouldn’t burn as bad. When we were sick you would make sure we had the chicken noodle soup and the Vick salve and snuggled under the covers with your kisses and hugs. You were so proud when we graduated school and we were proud when you finished school. You loved daddy, your girls, grandchildren and great grandchildren. You loved giving the kids a bath in the Kitchen sink. You loved shopping but you loved buying for others. You loved baking and making cakes for others. You were always making baby quilts. You never would let a child go hungry. You were amazing, kind, loving who had such a loving touch. You made impression on everyone you met. The world will be dimmer without you but we know you are flying high. God gained another angel and we know you will be looking down on us. Till we meet again mom. Know that we love you with all our heart. ❤️❤️

The world lost a sweet lady last night. Joyce always made me feel loved. I grew up in many ways at her house. A lot of my childhood memories involve her. She was more than just a neighbor. She treated us like family. I haven’t seen her in several years now and knowing that she has passed makes me wish I would have made more time to go see her. Alice, Cindy, Norma, Jessica, Kenny, Jarvis, Brandon, and rest of the family please know that we are praying for you all.

First, I am so sorry for your tremendous loss. It’s been many years since mine passed but I will never forget the emptiness and I still have it; it’s a raw that never goes away. Keep those precious memories you have of her in your heart. They will help bring the smile back!
I remember your mom from the lunch line growing up. I didn’t really know her personally but I knew as a child she was your mom and Alice was my classmate and friend. I do remember she would often offer a child something extra when she thought they needed or wanted it. And- that stands out for me because as a child, a little extra attention and kindness always makes a huge difference.
Prayers for each of you and the extended family for comfort during this time.

My deepest sympathy to the children, grandchildren, other family members, and friends of “Mrs. Joyce.” She was wonderful and caring person who really wanted to help others. Joyce was a deducted member of the Child Nutrition Programs at Rogers and Central (manager) Schools. Her goal was to make sure that those “little fellows” had enough good food to eat. She found a way to help those in need.
