Vertis Leroy Cottles, 90, of Florence, passed away June 22, 2023, at Athens Limestone Hospital. He was retired from TVA as a Machinist, of the Protestant faith and a Veteran of the United States Army having served in Korea.
Survivors include:
Children: Joey Cottles, Christopher Cottles, Sherry & Buck Thornton
Brother: William E. Cottles
(7) Grandchildren; (5) Great grandchildren

Wife: Elois Thornton Cottles
Mother of his children: Jeanette Cottles
Daughter: Regina Redke

There will be a graveside service for Vertis on Monday, June 26, 2023, at 11:00am, at North Carolina Cemetery.
