I never rode on the bus route but I did ride on countless sport game away trips. Corey Tays drive the Junior varsity bus and I remember the goal of getting to the Varsity bus. Being in the first bus behind Bobby Joe’s police chief escort and enjoying Mr. Rohlings’ sense of humor and his passion for driving us to and from those games especially the long trips was such a joy and privilege. My sympathies for the Rohling family.

So sorry for your loss. I always loved being around Richard. He broke me in to driving a bus for the Loretto Football Team and I did that for several years. He was always a joy to be around.

Mr Richard was my bus driver for so many years on Bus 37. He was sweet and kind and cared for all the kids on the bus. He was the only bus driver I ever had that would give us Christmas presents. I’m so sorry to hear of his passing. He will never be forgotten Ashley Ellis

I have many memories, of both Richard and the family - told through many iterations to which may only be partially true :-). I remember spending time in the parts store, swimming in the pool, jumping on the trampoline and the many other adventures I was allowed to get into with the “older” kids. You hold a very special place in my parent’s lives and for your very long friendship, I’m truly appreciative. You will be missed by many, but definitely not forgotten. I know your suffering is now over and look forward to one day reminiscing in heaven.

His friendly and caring nature made every bus journey in my childhood memorable, and it was truly heartwarming to see my own children build a similar connection with him.
