Back in the 70’s Doug and I were calling a playoff baseball game at Mars Hill. We had a great game going Doug was working behind the plate and I was working bases, it was 0-0 in the fourth ending no hitter when Mars Hill got a little base hit over second baseman for the first hit of the game. As I was moving down to second to get in position I hear deep loud voice holler “TIME “ I look around and didn’t see anything wrong I look at Doug and he motion me to come talk. As we started toward each other and meet close to the mound and I ask him what you got Doug , he said I got a question for you, what you got Doug. He looks at me with this serious look and said “ How much is Hog Wire a roll”. I looked at him with a grin on my face and I said what. He said I have been going to ask you and I keep forgetting and I though this was a good time. So i told him the cost and he said great I am going to get one. This was just one of many and I always think of my friend Doug when I talk to other people about baseball. Love you brother RIP
