Obituary of Henry Milton Yancey

Henry Milton Yancey, 92, of Killen, AL, passed away March 26, 2012 after an extended illness. He was a member of the Church of Christ since his youth and served as a Deacon at Pleasant Valley Church of Christ. He was benevolent in missionary work and church related activities. Mr. Yancey was a Navy veteran of World War II where he served in the Pacific. He was a cotton and cattle farmer, a construction worker, and was active in farm related organizations. Mr. Yancey loved nature, fishing, hunting, gardening, and farming. He also loved to travel and visited 49 of the 50 states. Mr. Yancey will be remembered as a loving father, husband, grandfather, and head of the family as he was always very family oriented. He had a great sense of humor that everyone enjoyed and loved telling stories.

Son: Timothy Trent Yancey of Killen
Stepson: Dennis Clinard of Sparta, Wisconsin
Daughter: Martha Jo Mason of Killen
Stepdaughter: Carolyn Clinard of Goodlettsville, TN
Sister: Frances June Watson of Killen
Aunt: Lavern Tate
(8) Grandchildren, (11) Great grandchildren, (6) Step-grandchildren, and (18) Step- great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by:
Parents: Grady Preston and Hattie Mae Comer Yancey
1st Wife: Virginia Yancey
Son: Grady Neil Yancey
Daughter: Judy Gail Yancey Williams
Sisters: Agnes Bell and Arlene Campbell

Visitation will be Thursday, March 29, 2012 from 11:00 A.M. until 2:00 P.M. at Pleasant Valley Church of Christ. The funeral service will follow this at 2:00 P.M. with Bro. Stanley Dean and Bro. Kent McClelland officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Valley Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Joel Alexander, David Campbell, Darrell Williams, Trent Yancey, Steven Crew, and Shane Killen. Honorary pallbearers will be Gilbert Kretzer, Almon Watson, and Robert Smith.
