James Lee (Jim) Minakes, 70 , of Killen, AL, passed away February 23, 2012, after an extended illness. Mr. Minakes was a native of Toledo, Ohio and was a Realtor/Contractor. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Vietnam War and a Christian. Mr. Minakes was very involved in numerous charities including the Lions Club and was the past president of CASA. He was also an avid golfer.
Survivors include:
Wife: Carolyn Minakes
Daughter: Jamie Strott and grandchildren Ellie and Braden
Son: Gino
Sister: Elaine Goolsby
Brothers: Dave Minakes and Matthew Minakes
Mr. Minakes was preceded in death by his parents, Matthew and Jean Curtis Minakes.
There will be a memorial service for Mr. Minakes Saturday, March 3, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. at Greenhill Funeral Home.
