Obituary of Andrew Dee "A.D" Howard
Andrew Dee “A.D.” Howard passed away Tuesday, January 4, 2019 in Florence, AL.
Funeral service will be held at Lexington United Methodist Church on Monday, January 7th at 1 PM with Bro. Sam Hayes and Bro. Joey Karr officiating. Burial will follow at Pettus Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Lexington United Methodist Church on Monday, January 7th from 10:00 A.M until 1:00 P.M. Greenhill Funeral Home will be handling the funeral arrangements.
A.D. was born on August 25, 1929 to Almon and Hermie Howard. He attended Lexington High School and graduated in 1947. He served in the U.S. Army. He was a retired millwright, rural mail carrier, and an active cattleman at the time of his passing. He was an active member of Lexington United Methodist Church and Lexington Masonic Lodge #613 for more than 50 years.
A.D. is survived by his children, Bobby (Kim) Howard and Jenny Howard; grandchildren, Anna (Ryan) Roberson and Callie (Zack) Sinyard; great-grandchildren, Jack, John and Liza Roberson and much anticipated fourth great-grandchild Joel Dee Sinyard; brother, Billy (Betty) Howard; sister, Sherry Corum; sister-in-law, Peggy Howard. He is preceded in death by wife, Christine McGuire Howard; parents, Almon and Hermie Howard; brother, Ed Howard and brother-in-law, Henry Corum.
Pallbearers will be Buck Bailey, Hank Corum, Randy Laurence, Neal McGuire, Tony Ritter, Ryan Roberson, Zack Sinyard, and Tommy Stephens. Honorary pallbearers will be Gerald Campbell and Arlon Springer.
The children and grandchildren had many good laughs about things the great-grandchildren got away with at Grandy’s house that they never could. A.D. was a Godly example of what a good husband, Daddy, and Grandy should be and he will be greatly missed.
A.D. had a strong affection and love for his church. The family asks that memorials be directed to the Lexington United Methodist Church Building Fund.
