Such an amazing lady. My mom always said the sweetest & kindest member of her family was not actually a blood relative. Aunt Alice was love! She was so kind. My mom & siblings grew up poor. Aunt Alice helped them with clothes & whatever she could. She raised her brother in laws child as if she were her own. She was a beloved member of Florence but especially the Greenhill community. Her laugh, I can hear her laugh now & it was wonderful. Her laugh was contagious. What do I remember most? Her cooking was amazing & she didn't care what others thought. She was not judgemental. She was quite progressive, once whispering in my ear that If I were gay along with my cousins, she said to live our lives & she'd love us anyway, despite her religious beliefs. She loved her husband & it was very very obvious. She talked about how much she loved him. Most of all she never judged anyone. I'd go as far as saying she was the kindest lady I'd ever known. When my mom died she brought more food than would fit in the fridge. When my mom passed she came to my apartment. I was in college, young & living downtown in a 15 story apartment. The elevator was out & somehow she managed 15 flights to check on me. She was the only member of my family to just visit me aside from my Aunt Jeanne who was more like a mom. She held me as I cried. This full grown 20 yr old man somehow managed to climb into her lap...I sobbed, she cried & consoled me. She & my great Uncle offered to take me shopping for a suit. She talked about her grandkids often. Those kids were her life. Ill forever Miss you Aunt Alice. RIP! Florence & Greenhill continues to miss you & will always love you. Sorry 4 typos!

My Dear Loved Ones, Please know that we share in your pain & loss. "My Sweet Alice", as I called her, brought so much "life" to all of us. I wish I had words to express all that she gave me about the family which helped fill a deep void in my life, always wondering who, where, my family was. May the Holy Spirit give you rest & peace . My Sweet Alice, I wish Heaven had a phone soI could hear your voice again. I thought of you today, but that is nothing new. I thought of you yesterday, and days before that too. I think of you in silence, I often speak your name. All I have are memories, and a picture in a frame. Your memory is a Keepsake from which I'll never part.
