Obituary of Joyce Black

~~Joyce Jean Black, 87, of Florence, AL, passed away September 28, 2017 at Mitchell-Hollingsworth Nursing Home. Mrs. Black was a retired clerk at Culpepper’s Bakery and a member of Faith Church.

 Mrs. Black is survived by:

  Sons: Samuel Steven Black and wife Denise of Florence
              Charles Edward Black of Florence
  Daughter: Kathy Black Akridge and husband Larry of Florence
  Sister: Betsy Tarkington and husband Malcolm of Huntsville, AL
  Grandchildren: Samuel Lee Akridge, Stephen Caleb Akridge (Celisa), and Leann Black
  Host of nieces and nephews

 She was preceded in death by her husband Edward Black ,parents Roy Jackson “Jack” Horne and Grace Belew Horne, sister Mary Jackson Horne Boyd, and brothers Neal Horne and Van Troy Horne.

There will be a service held for Mrs. Black at the Pavilion at Tri-Cities Memorial Gardens at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, October 7, 2017 with Bro. Henry Melton officiating.

The family would like to send a special thanks to Dr. Steve Wampler, Dr. Felix Morris, Southern Care Hospice nurses and staff, and Mitchell-Hollingsworth Nursing Home nurses and staff for the excellent care of their mother.
