Roy Leon Burks, Sr., 82, of Florence, passed away October 30, 2010, at the Floyd E. "Tut" Fann Home in Huntsville. He was a retired TVA Pipefitter with Local 760 of Muscle Shoals, a U. S. Army Veteran of the Korean War, and a member of the Church of Christ.
Survivors include: Wife: Wanda L. Burks - Florence Son: Roy L. Burks, II, and wife Melissa - Greenhill Step-son: John Sanderson - Nashville Step-daughters: Rhonda Morris - Gatlinburg Robin Sanderson - Nashville Brothers: Harold Burks - St. Joseph Jimmy Burks - St. Joseph Sister: Margorie Quillen - Greenhill Grandchildren: Abby and Trey Burks - Greenhill Step Grandson: Justin Sanderson - Nashville
Preceded in death by: Parents: Joe Wheeler Burks and Alma Burks Brothers: Ray, Tommy, and Joe W. Burks, Jr.
Visitation will be Monday, November 1, at Greenhill Funeral Home from 11:00-1:00pm. The funeral service will follow at 1:00pm at the funeral home with Tim Grigsby officiating. Burial will be in Shiloh Cemetery with Military Honors.
